There are few things more universally irritating than standing in a long checkout line when you're just trying to grab your groceries and go home. We all hate it, but what else is there to do? Everyone politely waits their turn, scrolling on their phone or pretending to examine the impulse-buy chocolate bars. That's just how it works.
It's Sunday today, and I just got back from my weekly Trader Joe's run. You already know it was a madhouse in there. Why are Trader Joe's stores always too small for the number of people inside? You would think they'd have the register situation figured out by now. Every location I've ever been to has the same chaotic snake of carts winding through the aisles. They should really take notes from Chick-fil-A. Say what you will about that chain, but they've got efficiency down to a science. They could have you and your groceries out the door before your frozen dumplings even start thawing.

Anyway, we all know the deal, you wait your turn, no matter how long it takes. But apparently, one customer decided they were above the unspoken code of checkout etiquette… and the cashier wasn’t having it.
