Home Alone-Style 'Security System' Goes Viral When an Overprotective Mom Shares Her Night Routine When Her Husband is Out of Town (VIDEO)

As a woman, it can be a little scary to live alone, so it's tempting to scroll online and check out some classic home security tips that would help in the event of a break-in, but the mom in this next video took things down a strangely DIY path that left viewers more confused than informed. Kevin McCallister would have been proud of the booby-trap-style 'home security' system that this woman employs when her husband is out of town. 

A few of the tactics she shares with her followers–like the coin on the lock and the coat hanger on the doorknob–are all fairly standard homemade alarm systems for people who live alone, but where she lost us was at the strange, electrically charged aluminum foil, the slippy towel, and the baby shoes. Whoever this woman is, all I know is that she will be sleeping safe and sound whenever she's home alone with the kids, because this mama bear is taking EVERY extra precaution to protect the house.
