The person who you want to walk you down the aisle should be chosen by more than just the familial relationship you two have. Sure, a dad is the traditional choice, but it doesn't have to be him if you don't feel like it. After all, it's your wedding, and you should get full control when deciding who gets to walk beside you on one of the happiest moments in your life.

When I got married, I wanted both my parents to be by my side as I walked down the aisle, and that is exactly what happened. I also attended countless weddings where the happy couple walked that road alone, or had friends and other family members at their side instead.
