As a fellow Gen Z, I grew up in the age of technology. We had those clunky Mac computers in elementary school computer labs, iPod Touches in middle school, and smartphones by high school. Our screen time was for sure off the charts, but can you blame us? There were zero parental restrictions on those iPods. Plus, Facebook had just launched, and everyone was obsessed with being online.
My group chats consisted of constant nonstop texting, sending memes, emojis, and blurry photos at all hours. If you dared to step away for family dinner for 30 minutes, you'd come back to 200+ missed messages.
Honestly, I wish I didn't grow up in this era sometimes… but at the same time, it gave me lifelong friendships. The eight people in that chaotic Kik group chat before we were even allowed real phones are still my best friends today. Technology definitely kept us connected, but man did it also fry our attention spans.
With that being said, my brain is still rotted, just like every other Gen Z out there. Keep scrolling for memes that prove it.
