Summertime always makes me want to go on an adventure. Although the 100th rewatching of The Lord of the Rings trilogy calls to me in 4k, the allure of having my own hobbit adventure urges me to reach for my walking stick, pack up 8 meals for the day, and head out into the world on foot… Half-foot, that is.
Perhaps if hobbits were any more stubborn like the dwarves, any more graceful like the elves, or any more prideful like Men, they wouldn't be the perfect adventuring type. Although many hobbits are known for turnip farms and riding ponies to the pub, they're also incredible creatures with a knack for finagling themselves into the trollops and the battles of everyone else in Middle Earth.
Hobbits may gripe about preferring the Shire or enjoying a hard cheese in front of a bonfire instead of walking 20 miles in the rain, but deep down, every hobbit wants an adventure—they'll just bring their favorite book along with them to read when the weather is fair and the sun is shining.
