Divorce, though difficult to witness as a child who thought Mom and Dad would be together forever, is sometimes necessary to make a family work. Some parents weren't meant to be romantically involved, but now that a child is in the mix, they must do what's necessary to foster a healthy co-parenting relationship. This, unfortunately, oftentimes results in a (hopefully) amicable divorce.

When your parents take the steps to create a healthy living situation for you, that's how you know that at least one of them is acting in your best interest.
