Social media is notorious for being the kind of environment where people perform a version of themselves instead of being true to their actual identities. If any platform has an average user who is somewhat true to their actual self, though, it has to be Reddit. The combination of semi-anonymity with the tendency for the place to be used for advice means that more often than not, people are willing to give up a little more information about themselves, with not as much of a performance as elsewhere.
That doesn't mean that it doesn't have its fair share of ridiculousness, though. There is plenty of entertainment to be had on the front page of the internet, we just need to know where to find it. Thankfully, a list like this makes it easy to browse the funny highlights that act as a reminder that Reddit can be a very amusing place.
