AI-generated images and texts are becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish from human-made digital and textual assets. As a writer, I am compelled to acknowledge that AI-generated content, in terms of both creative writing and personal writing, is treading the line of unethical. Aside from the fact that artificial intelligence will never match a human writer's tone and feeling, there will also always be signs of AI-generation in any text. Whether it's the overuse of the em dash, perfect line breaks, or general robotic tone, AI can be caught by the trained eye.
Sometimes, you don't have to be familiar with writing to catch artificially generated content; we're in a digital age where AI is increasingly prevalent on social media and used by companies for copy, so consumers everywhere have seen and read AI-generated content. The person in this next story is sure that their friend utilized Chat GPT to write their sports club acquaintance's memorial eulogy, and the friend tries to deny it at first. After a while of back-and-forths, the friend indirectly changes the subject from denying it to defending himself. The best part? This friend wants to go into social media marketing. He's going to have to learn how to write from his dome before inviting AI into the mix…
