Here's something every parent can relate to - when we were kids, we played with toys. A lot. And not because we were particularly wholesome or creative, but because… well, there was nothing else to do. No internet. No smartphones. Just three TV channels (if the antenna was behaving) and a pile of plastic dinosaurs to get us through a rainy Saturday.
Naturally, when I became a parent, I wanted to give my kids all the toys they could dream of. And I did. But it turns out, what I actually bought was all the toys I dreamed of. Their rooms are packed with retro reboots, collector's items, and stuff that would've blown my 8-year-old mind - but since they have portable screens connected to the entirety of human history and entertainment, a few toy soldiers just aren't gonna cut it.
So this list is a love letter to the pre-WiFi days. These are the 45 toys we had - or desperately wanted - back when fun came in cardboard boxes and ran on AA batteries. Which ones did you own? And which ones still haunt your eBay saved searches?
