One young woman dealt with this after she got a promotion at work, to the displeasure of one of her roommates, who also happened to be her coworker. After she received the good news, she started noticing that the other woman was spending less time at home and committing time theft at work, and some of her other colleagues were not speaking to her.
She eventually found out that her roommate felt that she had taken a promotion that she should have had, although she never applied for the position. Things got increasingly difficult at work and at home, leading the other woman to demand that she move out. She refused to do so until the end of the month, but she wondered if she was being unreasonable.
