I was never particularly good or bad at math. My parents were pretty strict about me earning A's in all of my classes up until college, so I did as I was told. However, I always found that it didn't really come easy to me. I typically had to scramble for some extra credit to turn my B's into A's at the end of each quarter. In my final year of high school, I fully gave up progressing in the subject and took the easiest class possible just so I wouldn't have to think in numbers anymore.

Every once in a while, I caught vague glimpses of the beauty of math. It didn't happen often, but sometimes, a problem felt like a puzzle or game instead of a chore, and it was, dare I say, fun? How does a series of letters and numbres turn into an image like the ones that you see in this gallery? If you recall learning to plot a simple line on a graph back in Algebra I, then that's basically it. If lines can have equations, so too can shapes, textures, colors, shadows, dimensions, directions. Then, you just have them all interact!
