He leaves the toothpaste open, he forgets to actually plug his charger into the wall before sleeping, and he always leaves a book propped open on the tiny coffee table, leaving no room for, well, coffee! You confront him, he promises to pay more attention. He doesn't; you are slowly driven mad. 
    One day, he leaves for a weeklong work trip. For a few days, you finally relax. The toothpaste is never in danger of drying out, and you can enjoy a cup of hot coffee without having to balance the mug on a corner. But you find yourself missing the chaos. Perhaps you grew fond of it, of maybe the lack of it only implies his absence. You finally realize that you can't live with him, nor without him.
