'This set off a domino effect': Mom bans kids from bringing their expensive toys over step-sibling jealousy, so they choose to live with dad who respects their boundaries

The dynamic between stepsiblings can be tricky. Sure, Step Brothers made it look hilarious with two fully grown man-children beefing over drums and bunk beds. But in real life, it's rarely that entertaining. Especially when the kids come from wildly different households. One set might be used to iPads, lacrosse gear, and spring break trips, while the others have… sticky fingers and no clue that a PS5 isn't indestructible.

In this story, that class divide runs deep. The dad lives a very comfortable life thanks to a family trust and even lets his ex-wife (who hasn't worked since the divorce) live rent-free in one of his family's homes for years so the kids could stay close. Nice, right? But now, their two kids are getting older, and so is the resentment.
