Single mom's boss randomly visits her house instead of having meetings at work, she questions his behavior and puts boundaries on: "Stop doing meetings this way"

Work should inherently be a professional place. I guess it depends on where you work, but even in dive bars there remains a certain level of propriety, veiled smiles, and the sterile atmosphere. Coworkers can really make or break the workplace. I know that there were times in my life where I felt like I had the most idyllic job I could possibly have, but the coworkers made me want to pull my hair out. I've also had jobs that weren't necessarily my favorite, nor did they pay a lot, but it was worth it because of the people I worked with. When you come to work and feel like you're surrounded by friends, and people who respect and love you it can make all the difference.

In the story below, it's far from respectful or loving. The protagonist is a woman who lives alone with her teenage daughter, and is a single mom. Her boss, a man, refuses to plan meetings between the two of them at work and does it in her home.

This behavior is completely out of line. I can't believe this woman agreed to meetings in her home once at all. That's a huge red flag, and she should know better. There's no good reason to have your boss come to your place of residence for a meeting, it should only be done at work.
