    Talented Illustrator Reimagines Pokémon as Majestic Mayan Gods

    When I was a kid, I loved going back to my parent's home country in Latin America to visit my family. I was mostly excited to hang out with my cousins, but there were lots of other things to look forward to. It didn't happen every visit, but every once in a while, my entire family would squeeze into two cars and take a road trip to some of the Mayan ruins that are speckled across the country. I could never get enough of the beautifully detailed stelae, the endless ancient staircases lined with hieroglyphs, or colorful reconstructions of what it all looked like in its prime. 

    More talented people than I have been greatly influenced by this ancient civilization's unique style– namely, illustrator @Monarobot, who has managed to turn our favorite pocket monsters into fully-fledged Mayan gods.
