Hey there, parents of the internet. Summer is here, the heat is in full swing, and the AC is blasting night and day. When we're younger and still in grade school, summer meant so many magical things. Summer meant we have free time for months. It felt like endless waves of sleeping in, playing outside, swimming in neighborhood pools, and eating watermelon all day and night. I grew up going to the beach every so often, and those were always the best days of the summer. Packing a peanut butter, jelly, and Goldfish sandwich (don't knock it till you try it), swimming for hours on end, getting ice cream afterwards to dull the taste of sea salt in your mouth. And when you go to bed that night you can still feel the ebb and glow of the waves rocking you to sleep in the safety of your bed.
As adults, we know that summer isn't this intermittent period between reality and a daydream. Summer doesn't mean time off, everyone still has to work, and the only difference is that there's that one guy in your office blasting AC way too strongly for the temperature outside.
As a parent in the summer with kids home all day, things are even harder. Enjoy these parenting memes.
