I once had a boyfriend who had a similar experience to this protagonist. When you own a nice camera in the age of social media, you never really know who your true friends are. He would also be invited to exciting camping trips, or hiking, or trips in nature, but felt the whole time like his “friends” were just trying to use him as a photographer.
