Manager forces HR to hire his ‘crush’ even though she was the least ranked candidate, costs the company thousands of dollars: ‘Turns out, hiring your crush isn’t as cute when the company starts losing money.’

• Usually getting attention as a potential hire is a good thing, but not in this case. Here, the manager was already sorta “dating” this woman and he told HR to hire her no matter what. HR pushed back saying she was not the most qualified for the job, but he didn't care. She made sure to get his insistence on hiring her in writing, because when everything hut the fan—which it inevitably did—they know who to blame.
