It's always important to remember your own autonomy in a job interview. We are socialized to think that when you're applying for a job, you are at the mercy of your hiring manager. However, what happens if you can immediately sense that something is off? What happens if you almost instinctively know that the interviewer would be an absolute nightmare to work with if you were to accept the position? What happens if you feel that your experience is being questioned, or even that your values may be compromised if you were to take this job?

Still, just being there is an inherent idea of how job candidates are supposed to behave in interviews; if you're being disrespected, you can always walk away.
