Being a full-time student is hard, especially in higher education, where you're expected to cover most of your own expenses with a budget that is supposed to materialize out of thin air. Sure, that's why financial aid exists, but not everyone has the bandwidth to take out loans that'll land and keep them in hot water for years to come (speaking from personal experience).

This is why a lot of students choose to live at home during their college years. Some live rent-free with their parents, while others put in financial contributions here and there to help their family make ends meet and practice responsible spending.
