Instead of facing their problems or the people responsible for them, they check out, leaving a 'be right back' sign, and disappearing until they feel ready enough to tackle them again.

For some, this method only causes more issues, for others, it gives them exactly what they were looking for – some time and space, and maybe even a little taste of karma.
