Really, the biggest offense here (sort of) is using the dogs as an excuse. The dogs are innocent and should not be a part of this insanity in any capacity. Do not get them involved. They do not deserve it, and you do not deserve them.

We agree with the comments. Trust your gut. Occam's Razor - the simplest explanation is probably the right one. Now, it's just a question of how to move forward, and we are truly so sorry that you have to go through that. No one deserves to feel like this, certainly not after 10 years of marriage with 2 kids.
