It's baffling to think about how entitled people have become these days. What part of "Would you like to join me for lunch?" screams, "I'll drop all my plans to make you happy (and pay for you while I'm at it)"?

Since when did being a considerate friend quietly shift into having "walkover" imprinted on your back? Is it really true that nice people always finish last—or is it that certain toxic friends have that je ne sais quoi that makes others believe every manipulative tale they're hand-fed?

There comes a point when selfishness can no longer be ignored, and you're forced to look around at the hand-picked circle of friends you've chosen to surround yourself with and ask, "Does this person add to my life, or take away from it?" As difficult as it may be to remove toxic friends from your daily routine, there comes a time when the person you once knew becomes unrecognizable, carrying intentions that no longer serve you. And that's okay. In fact, it's necessary to take time to sit with those feelings and realize it's not that certain people have outgrown you, but that you have outgrown certain people.

Well, a certain friend really needs to start making some tough decisions. After kindly inviting her friend, Luis, to join her for lunch, she was hit with a blunt, last-minute rejection, simply based on the choice of restaurant. So, as planned, she went to lunch without Luis (no shade intended). But then, that same so-called “friend” went around complaining to everyone about how wrong it was that she didn’t change the restaurant choice based on his non-verbal request.
