Here, we have a dude who was somehow still invited to his ex's sister's wedding. It sounds like they broke up on decent terms, but it's still a weird connection that makes you wonder why he was invited. Regardless, the author opted to go… until he learned that he and other guests would be charged $75 a plate. That certainly changes things. This shouldn't necessarily need to be acknowledged, but it's worth mentioning that if you cannot afford to feed so many guests, invite a small group… perhaps your sibling's ex should not have been on the invite list at all!
