Where does entitlement come from? Better yet, where does it go when one learns basic human decency and social etiquette. One could argue that it stems from being spoiled as a kid, and maybe a child getting too much of what he or she wants is morphing his phenotype to be selfish, narcissist, and entitled. But this certainly can't be 100% of cases. Someone can be a Charles Dickens orphan, impoverished and disadvantaged and still be entitled. The truth is, people are just people.

When growing up with sisters, they can either be your worst enemy or best friend. There's no predicting if you'll get along with siblings, so only children with fantasies of older brothers simply have their head in the clouds.

In the story below, it isn't just about two sisters. These sisters are very close, growing up as best friends. So getting along isn't the problem. But if we circle back to our ponderings on entitlement we'll see why they're having difficulties as adults together. The older one is pregnant, and the younger one is full-time in college. The pregnant sister expects her little sister to sacrifice everything for her.

It's pretty insane that the pregnant sister expects her younger sister to just drop everything for her and prioritize her pregnancy. It could be that the younger sister is a people pleaser, and the older one has been taking advantage of that for a long time.
