Back in the olden days of the internet, when we all had dial-up, you were out of luck if your mom or dad had to make an important phone call. But just because you couldn't surf the web and visit your favorite Geocities pages didn't mean that you couldn't play on the computer. There were tons of CD computer games back then – I personally was obsessed with Zoombinis. Even if you didn't have a vast collection of early 2000s educational CD games, every computer came loaded with free entertainment: Solitaire, Minesweeper, and of course, MS Paint.
While most of us probably used this clunky software to create vague designs or to edit photos, there are talented artists out there that actually create works of art with MS Paint. Spanish digital artist Concha Garcia Zaera was one such talent; her serene works dubbed her "La abuela del paint" ("The grandmother of paint") by internet fans. Scroll down to peruse a selection of her beautiful and captivating artwork!
