Sometimes I think about the epicness of Frodo and Sam's journey. Impossible, and doomed from the start, surely there were a few moments in their barefoot trek across Middle Earth that were actually pleasant.
I hear the countryside of Bree is quite lovely this time of year, and the middle-wood cabin of Tom Bombadil is blooming in full force. The lush Fangorn Forest and the waterfalls of Rauros enchant even the dimmest of species. While the world is full of evil creatures like orcs, uruk-hai, giant spiders, evil wizards, and some haunted piece of gold jewelry, there are also flowers, babbling brooks, and a delightful campsite set up under the stars. With Sam's cast iron pans, they must have had a fair share of wonderful dinners as well.
So while their journey was cursed and Frodo was being haunted by the One Ring and a bald, creepy creature the whole time, this duo still managed to enjoy some of the most beautiful sights in all of Middle Earth.
