29-year-old refuses to invite 32-year-old cousin to her wedding after family BBQ prank: 'She thought it would be hilarious to tell [my now-fiancé] that I used to be married'

Who you choose not to invite to your wedding is almost as important as the people you do invite. At the end of the day, it's your big event, and you have the right to select the people in your community who will be the most supportive of you and your spouse. For instance, this woman's cousin had demonstrated enough evidence to the fact that she was narcissistic and unsupportive, particularly when it came to this woman's relationship. After an awkward and deeply uncomfortable encounter at a family BBQ, in which the cousin thought it would be fun to fabricate drama so as to jeopardize and potentially sabotage the author's relationship with her now-fiancé, the author felt that her cousin would not be a welcome presence at her wedding. As for the BBQ drama, could you imagine your cousin telling a story to your significant other, divulging details they “should know” about your previous and messy divorce?
