I [messed] up. I took in what I thought was a stray, turns out it's a neighbour's cat.

Once you start feeding a cat, you have to know it's going to come back again…. and again…. and again…. and again. Cats have the will power of a steel bar and the patience that can outlast any hoooman's on the daily. That cat chose him and they weren't going to leave until the hooman accepted it.

This purrson clearly wasn't taking care of their cat. You can't call them “your cat” if you don't keep them inside or do everything you can to protect them from the world/themselves. Why would you ever keep a cat intact unless you planned on purrposefully having litters?
