Beautiful "stray" cat wanders in and falls asleep person's lap, they get warned that it might not be a stray, turns out the kitten was actually found by a USFS guy who couldn't adopt her himself: 'I guess I have a cat now'

Here at ICHC, we are big believers in the cat distribution system. We have heard one too many stories of cats showing up out of nowhere and adopting people who never wanted anything to do with them, to not believe in the CDS. Cats choose their humans, not the other way around. That is a fact. And people can argue, people can say that it is silly, but we will continue to stand on that statement, and every single day, we will continue to be proven right.

Like today - once again, the CDS has been proven to exist. So many people online told this person that the "stray" cat who walked up to them and sat straight in their lap cannot actually be a stray, that it has to already belong to someone, that this person has not been chosen but is actually possessing someone else's feline. So many people said it, and all of these people were wrong. This person has been blessed by the CDS, and we just know that their friendship with this cat is going to be pawmazing.

We love how this person's first instinct was to take the cat and then go and get everything that it could possibly need. That's how it should be. Once you are chosen, you should just accept your fate. We keep telling people that, but it's always so fun to see it put into practice.

So many good people all around in this story. We love it. We love to see people taking care of cats who need their help, even if they can't actually bring them in. More kindness in the world toward animals would be such a good thing, and we love to see it.
