I haven't flirted in a DnD campaign, but I think the only way to do it would be to use a really funny and exaggerated voice so that absolutely no one – not other players and certainly not your significant other – think you are cheating or serious in any way.

I'm not going to lie, at first I sort of thought that our protagonist was blowing some friendly roleplaying out of proportion. The only red flag there was that his girlfriend locked the door, but I was ready to give her the benefit of the doubt. Her friend's outright refusal to let our protagonist listen in is the the proof we all needed that this DnD relationship was totally inappropriate!
