Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. In this day and age, therapy speak has become more and more popular all the time. 50 years ago, you could ask anyone off the street what bipolar is, BPD, depression, anxiety, or narcissism and they would probably look at you like you're speaking a different language. Whereas these days, the language used in therapy sessions between a psychologist and client are often used as common vernacular in 2025.

There are pros and cons to this recent usage. It's a good thing to bring these mental health issues and behaviors to light, but of course it's a real science and shouldn't necessarily be used by people who don't properly know how to denote them. There's also the issue of overdiagnosis. In a world where these terms are becoming more and more prominent, it can become a crutch to just label yourself or someone else something, and not actually take real responsibility for your actions.

This family is in a real whirlwind. It's hard to see a teenager act more mature than his father or stepmother, two adults that should be the ones to guide his way, and teach him things. Instead, they're only making his life harder, and being difficult people to work with.
