The Most Entertaining Parenting Texts of the Week (May 13, 2025)

You can tell a lot about somebody's relationship with their mom based on how they text her on Mother's Day. I didn't exactly text my mom on Mother's Day because I FaceTimed her instead. I would find it kind of odd if I only said "Happy Mother's Day" over text instead of with my own voice. She deserves more than that, but that's what I gave her this year.

If someone is receiving 47 texts from their mom on Mother's Day, you can easily assume that their relationship is probably unhealthy one way or another. Either the mom is raging against their child in fury, or they can't stand not talking to them for even one second. If you were on the receiving end of those kinds of texts this weekend, on behalf of me and every other person with a good relationship with their parents, I'm so very sorry.

If you have a relationship with your parents that is mostly fine but can veer towards dysfunctional very easily, you might have a good time scrolling through the much more dysfunctional parenting texts that lie before you.
