Father's Day and Mother's Day are two holidays that couldn't be more different. On Father's Day, dads are like, "Let's spend time as a family! We can go to the park or have a cookout!" Meanwhile, moms are on a different wavelength entirely. On Mother's Day, moms are more like, "Can everyone please not talk to me, touch me, or even look at me today?" And honestly, we get it.
Being a mom is exhausting. Between the endless errands, homework help, meal prep, and the emotional labor of keeping the house running, it's no wonder they just need a break. Sure, it's sweet when everyone goes out of their way to cater to their mom for the day, but what moms really want on Mother's Day is a bit of peace and quiet (breakfast in bed is acceptable, however).
And the thing is, moms deserve to be celebrated every day. Whether it's with a quiet moment of gratitude or a well-deserved nap, a little recognition goes a long way. Flowers too. Don't forget the flowers.
