I just finished Hunter x Hunter (2011), and I feel empty inside. The worst part is, I went on 5 month long break because the Chimera Ant arc was getting really overwhelming, only to realize that I only had about 12 episodes left in the entire anime once I started watching again. I got to witness Ging finally have a meaningful conversation with his son, only to notice that there was no "Next Episode" button at the bottom of my screen.
I know I could just go ahead and read the manga, rewatch the anime, or try out the 1999 adaptation– and I totally will do all of these things – but it still feels like I am going through a break up. I kept scrolling through Netflix's anime catalogue like a wistful recently-single bachelor, searching for someone that reminds me of the one that got away. But truly, nothing looks like it could even come close – and yeah, I already watched Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
