Being a parent is all about juggling 18 different things at once. As they say, your work is never truly done. There is always a room in the house that needs cleaning, a pile of laundry to do, a kid that needs to be taken to a birthday party, or cookies for a bake sale that needs baking.

Whenever you cross off one task, another one immediately crops up in its place. It's like whack-a-mole, but instead of winning prize tickets to exchange for a stuffed animal, you win a… sense of satisfaction in knowing that you're raising the next generation or something like that. Some days, you'd rather just have the stuffed animal. Being a parent means being familiar with burning the candle at both ends. Actually, you can't remember a time when you burnt the candle at one end. It's always just melting, melting away before your very eyes.
