We tried to put our anxious doggo in doggy daycare for a few days. She did the same thing - she just kind of stood there, frozen, the whole time. They told us that she was starting to warm up to it, but we thought the risk was too great for a potential payoff.

Okay, sure. They could be crying because they're going to miss him, but that seems like a little too much investment. It's a bit exaggerated, no? Crying over a dog that isn't enjoying your daycare? If they really cared about the dog, they would want him to be happy no matter where he is.
