Millennial Parents Determined to End Their Family's Generational Traumas Prove Their Parenting Is Working By Having Their Kids Try and Fail to Finish Common Toxic Discipline Phrases

Parenting has never been easy and is always evolving. Luckily, millennial parents are proving that has been evolving for the better. You might be thinking, "how so?" Well, you can turn to TikTok, a Gen Z popular app of all places, to find the answer!

A popular trend between young parents on TikTok is creating a new bar for parenting. These are parents who are working very hard to break any sort of family trauma that might have been passed on to them from their parents, who had it passed on to them from their parents, and so on. This takes a lot of inner work, usually done through therapy, that has you accomplishing self-realizations and healing your inner child. After this, you can go on to make sure your kids don't suffer the same way you might've. That being said, no one is perfect, this is just one more step in the positive evolution of parenting.

The trend has parents asking their kids to finish well-known parenting discipline phrases. Antiquated sayings like, “I brought you into this world, so I can take you out!” or “I'll give you something to cry about!” All insinuate violence and do not come from a place of love, but hurt. In this trend you see kids having no idea how to end these phrases and even taking it a step further and changing these phrases to mean something positive. For example, this girl changed that first phrase to, “I brought you into this world so I can help you.” And the second one to, “I'll give you something to eat!”

Now this is wholesome AND healthy parenting. Keep it up millennials!
