Entitled neighbor keeps stealing tenant's laundry detergent, tenant gets even by replacing soap with blue dye: 'The next morning, I hear screaming coming from the laundry room'

Good neighbors help each other out every so often. If your neighbor's vacuum cleaner stops working, it shouldn't be out of the ordinary for them to stop by and ask if they can borrow yours briefly. That's normal behavior. Ask and you shall receive, as they say. What's abnormal neighborly behavior is when one person continues to use another person's things without asking. And before anyone inquires as to whether or not it was an accident, these guys were given strict instructions not to touch what was clearly not theirs.

In this instance, the drama went down in an apartment building's communal laundry room. Now, laundry room decorum is something few people seem to understand these days. It's as if everyone is battling it out for a limited number of machines, and some people can get greedy and possessive. However, here, we have a neighbor who believed they could get away with using another tenant's detergent repeatedly.

Now, a simple solution to this conflict would be for the author to not leave her detergent in her cubby in the laundry room, but petty revenge is always slightly more entertaining from an audience perspective. So after trying to nicely tell these neighbors to knock it off, the author decided to replace her detergent with blue dye. Let's just say that this neighbor's clothes were starting to resemble Cookie Monster after their next wash!
