The worst part about going on vacation is that the minute you enter the airport, the amount of frustration and unnecessary foolishness you may encounter is very much up in the air (see what I did there?). The truth of the matter is that virtually every kind of personality is on display at the airport.
There is the confident frequent flyer who knows the geography of the airport inside and out and has all the special perks that will make for an efficient and enviable experience. Then, there is the incompetent traveler who rarely goes on trips and has absolutely no idea what they are doing. These can be folks who hold up lines, and who have so much anxiety that everyone else has to suffer as a result.
Finally, there are the folks in between. These are the travelers who aren't completely hopeless, but they are also not wealthy and privileged enough to enjoy the luxuries of Global Entry, airport lounges, and first class. If you identify as an "in-between" traveler like me, then you likely have dealt with the extremes of both kinds of travelers. Most of the time, these are the thoughtful, intelligent people who should enjoy all the airport luxuries based on their level of decorum but could never afford them. Does anyone else agree that the people who really deserve those luxuries are the ones who don't exhibit Main Character Energy on the security line and who are kind to flight attendants? Just a thought!
