Meanwhile, grandma became collateral damage in Mia’s play for pity and free rent, her care was neglected the moment it was inconvenient, her needs were overlooked in favor of Mia’s daily crises. When things finally hit rock bottom, Mia responded the only way she knew how: a spectacular exit that involved grabbing family valuables and disappearing, leaving behind nothing but missing heirlooms and a pile of regret.
