When a tough romantic breakup happens, one of the only comforting things you can rely on is the thought that you never have to see that person again. You may have some awkward encounters for the next couple of weeks, returning each other's belongings, and running into each other in familiar spots you didn't yet realize you should avoid. But sooner or later, you each find your own corner of the world, and you simply do not see each other anymore. You are not part of the other's life, and that's comforting for those who simply want to put that relationship behind them.

However, some unfortunate people don't get to have even that one comforting element of a breakup. For some reason, they are stuck seeing their ex in the most random corners of their lives, and because of that, they have an even more difficult time letting go. When that happens because someone in your life is unable to let you ex go, that stings even more.
