Listen up, video game companies—it's not that hard. You almost had it with Skyrim, but ever since then, you've been drifting further and further away from the game I actually want. It's so simple: a massive online world where I can choose a classic D&D character—fighter, magic user, archer—team up with five or six friends, and just go wherever and do whatever. Why is this such a struggle to make?
You start in the inn. An NPC bursts through the door, out of breath, shouting that the princess has been kidnapped. The king is offering a hefty reward to whoever rescues her. BAM! You and your friends are off on an adventure. No weird loot mechanics, no unnecessary crafting systems—just real-time combat instead of dice rolls and an actual Dungeons & Dragons experience in video game form.
Until some brilliant developer finally gives us the game we deserve, we'll have to settle for memes about D&D—and lucky for us, they're hilarious. These 31 D&D memes perfectly capture the chaos, laughter, and absolute nonsense that happens at every single campaign.
