Having your usual workflow interrupted by a new person can be quite disruptive. There are some companies that just run like a smoothly-oiled machine. The workers all know each other and can anticipate the other's needs. They communicate well and have a good balance when delegating tasks. Oftentimes, their bosses will let them carry on like this, because it's good for morale. If you don't dread going into a dysfunctional workplace every day, chances are you'll be a happier employee than someone whose workplace is full of chaos. 

When a new person joins the team, there might be some hiccups at first as they get the lay of the land. But oftentimes, they adapt within a few months and become part of that smoothly oiled machine.

They think they already know everything there is to know, which is, ironically, a sign of someone who isn't intelligent at all. Smart people spend their whole lives learning and improving. Refusing help and insisting you know it all is a sure sign of someone who isn't very bright (or at the very least, has some ego issues.)
