This morning, while walking my beloved dog, I was charged by a rogue squirrel. Where I live, squirrels are extra bold, unafraid of humans, dogs, cats, or really any creature larger than them. Inflated by egotistical madness, these squirrels run toward you instead of away, standing on their hind feet, and chattering like crazy to assert dominance. Spooked by the little terrors, I let out a squeal and skittered away, but my dog—my pawtector—wasn't going to be harassed so easily by this small fry mammal.
He leapt into action, borking, pulling, snarling, and letting that squirrel know that if he attacked us—like for real—there would be penance to pay with a couple of white pointies.
My heroic pooch scared away the squirrel, and despite being followed by the manic creature for another block, he effectively saved us from the tormenting rodent rage. Alas, that's what is always a great reminder about extra spicy puppercinis. While they may be frustratingly en fuego, sometimes your feisty pooch is rightfully riled up.
