The worst thing about being anxious is that it's usually so useless. Sometimes nerves can help you if you have a big basketball game or are performing at Madison Square Garden, but most of the time they just get us worked up over nothing. Recently, I've been falling into the anxiety pit of imagining my friends' funerals, and that's just about as fun as it sounds! I imagine the speech I would give if I was asked to speak and give my condolences to their family. If you believe in manifestation, this is probably the worst possible thing you could do with your thoughts. It serves no real purpose other than to make me upset and does not prepare me well for the distinct possibility that I will have to attend at least one of my friend's funerals. The first step in overcoming anxiety is realizing that it is just that, and not a tangible reality that everyone else is also living in.
