It must be so nice for kids and teenagers today to grow up in a world where ADHD is actually a recognized thing. When I was a kid, ADHD wasn't something you got diagnosed with — it was something you got yelled at for. "Why didn't you finish your homework?" I did. Kinda. In my head. Twice. I just forgot to write it down and then got distracted by a dog outside and now we're here.
Back then it wasn't ADHD, it was just "being lazy" or "not living up to your potential." Which, ouch. But in some twisted way, I'm kind of glad I wasn't diagnosed early on — because it forced me to figure out my own weird coping mechanisms. Like this one: I discovered that if I try to do one thing, I fail. Miserably. But if I promise to do fifteen different things at once, suddenly I turn into a productivity machine. It makes no sense, but it works. Mostly.
So here's a little love letter to all my fellow attention-deficit overachievers. These 30 ADHD memes are funny, painfully real, and maybe a little too relatable. But don't worry — you'll forget them in five minutes anyway.
