Look, I'm not trying to be that guy—but seriously, what is the vibe of the 2020s? What's the flavor? What's the sound? I keep waiting for some cultural wave to slap me in the face with meaning and style, but all I'm getting is middle-part haircuts and algorithm-approved playlists that sound like someone left the "spice" out of the spice rack.
Back in the 90s? Oh, we had flavor. Loud, clashing, glorious flavor. We had grunge and glam, ska and screamo, big jeans, weird hats, tiny sunglasses, and angst so potent it came with its own guitar solo. Music actually felt like something. Fashion was wild, TV was weirder, and even the commercials had personality. You could taste the difference between a 90s snack and whatever this oat-based nonsense is.
So while I go blast Rage Against the Machine and remember what it felt like to really feel, you can scroll through these 32 glorious throwbacks and relive a time when culture actually had color, texture, and bite.
