A few years ago, the world was obsessed with ancestry DNA services. Everyone was eager to spit into a tube, send it off, and await the revelation of their mysterious genetic roots. The hype was palpable; it was the ultimate treasure hunt, minus the treasure and plus a lot of unexpected family drama.

The excitement was short-lived. As people began to receive their results, they quickly realized that some truths are better left unspoken.
