Sometimes the diet needs to be put on hold to help you handle a pawticularly tough week. Life is tough enough as it is, and denying yourself some simple pleasures, is not necessarily a show of strength and determination. In fact it can be quite the opposite, you deserve to be kind to yourself.

In those weeks when you manage to appreciate that you are cognitively strained, the natural response is to keep going, but to set your standards a little lower, thus allowing you to enjoy a similar amount of pawsitive feedback as before while building up the motivation to keep going. However, when that plan fails, all is lost.
